THE CREATOR BEHIND SYNESTHESIA TAROT
Jana Walker
I’ve always been a creative person. As a kid I enjoyed acting, dancing, pottery and other visual mediums. My dad worked in computers when I was growing up and instilled in me a love of technology. After majoring in business my freshman year of college, I knew I wanted a change. I became a Graphic Design major and haven’t looked back since. I am drawn to the unique relationship between technology and art and how one can benefit and inform the other.
I started Synesthesia Tarot in 2018 with a successful Kickstarter Campaign. It was the first time I realized my dream of owning a small business could really become a reality. I wanted to create a tarot deck that felt fresh and modern. Instead of using the traditional imagery we have come to associate with many of the cards, I opted for simple line drawings and color to help inform the message of each card.
Just as finding my purpose has helped inspire me on my journey, I hope my work can do the same for others. I plan to keep exploring the power of art and technology. My wish is to create work that helps people to look within and discover their own personal strength. I believe we have the answers inside of us, sometimes we just need a little help accessing them.
